Zimpot Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026

Zimpot is a private bookkeeping tool operated by Philippe Hamel CPA ("we"). It connects to QuickBooks Online through the Intuit API to help prepare accounting records. It is not offered to the public.

What we access

Only the QuickBooks Online company that its owner has authorized when connecting the app, and only with the accounting scope (com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting). Zimpot does not request payroll or payment permissions. It reads and writes accounting records such as invoices, bills, bill payments, attachments and reports.

How data is handled

Data is processed on computers controlled by Hamel CPA. Access tokens are stored in a protected local configuration file and are never published. We do not sell, rent or share QuickBooks data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising or to train machine learning models. Documents the user supplies are used only to create the corresponding QuickBooks records.

Retention and disconnection

Authorization can be revoked at any time from QuickBooks (Apps > My apps > Disconnect) or by emailing us. After disconnection we delete the stored tokens. Records already created in QuickBooks remain in the company file, which belongs to its owner.

Security

Credentials are kept out of source code and logs, access is limited to authorized personnel, and communication with Intuit uses HTTPS.

Your rights

Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and PIPEDA you may ask what information we hold, request correction or deletion, or make a complaint. Write to philippe@hamelcpa.ca.
